Altered Journal - Haunted w/Acetate

I was feeling like my spread for Tamara's book was missing something. Deb suggested putting fingerprints on the pages but I was really worried about messing up and having to start over. Then I had an idea - I borrowed my little one's hand and made a hand print using white gesso on a piece of acetate. The acetate piece is the same size as the page (6"x6") and is a separate sheet between the spread.

Altered Journal - Haunted House

This is an altered journal spread I did for Tamara's "Things That Go Bump in the Night" book. Girl image from Lisa's Altered Art. I put some cheesecloth, that I'd painted with black gesso, underneath the image of the house. Text is from one of DH's haunted tales book. My dark & scary muse has been gone so long and I've been doing so much pink & flourish work that this was a little tough going for me.

TMTA - Spring

The theme this week at TMTA is Spring. Nothing says spring to me like pretty pinks, whites, yellows, buttons and lace. Image from Lisa's Altered Art. The scan doesn't show it, but there's a finish coat of twinkling H2Os over the BG and the paper lace.

ATC - Le Garcon

I ended up doing a private trade for this ATC so I'm back to the drawing board for one for the circle mingle. :) I made this ATC for the upcoming ATC mingle on the Altered_(st)ART group. The new theme is going to be circles and/or dots. Image from Lisa's Altered Art. The crowned cat German scrap piece was part of a RAK. I used a little gold paint to accent it.

ATC - D

An ATC for a RAK. Image from Digital Collage Sheets. BG done using Bernie Berlin's Inky Layers technique. Flourish stamps, lace trim and metal initial accent.

ATCs - "14" and "Egg Boy"

Chose to work with a little different color palette on these two ATCs. Images are from Lisa's Altered Art. The star (14) came from a pizza box.

ATC-Dream Big

Image from Lisa's Altered Art. Background done with hand-drawn circles, white gesso, oil pastels, sandpaper, inks and mulberry paper (top/bottom).

ATC - Sing Your Own Song

I made this ATC for the upcoming "music" theme ATC mingle on Altered _(st)ART. Image from Lisa's Altered Art. Decorative border stamp from Limited Edition RS. Text from a dynamo label maker.

ATC - One Two 3

This is an ATC I did today for a mingle on Altered_stART. Image is from Lisa's Altered Art.
The background is another one of my gesso/drybrush/ink/paint/stamp/sand/walnut ink works.

ATC Enchanting

This is an ATC I created yesterday. I whitewashed, stamped, used oil pastels and inked the background. The bird is german scrap, but I added some black to it to darken it some. I also played with "Crackle Accents". It's like Glossy Accents but it crackles clear. I used it over the text and also over the flowers but it's hard to see in the scan.

Gothic Arch

I was trying to create a Gothic Arch that captured the theme over at the Gothic Arch Challenge blog, as well as using the Monday challenge image over on Altered Designs. I ended up designing myself into a corner because I didn't think before I glued. I really didn't want to toss this because I loved the background I did - so this was the compromise. Unfortunately it didn't qualifty for the GA challenge.

Altered Clipboard

Here's a clipboard I "altered" with some different scrapbook papers. I used black gesso on the base of the clipboard, added the papers (torn and edged w/black gesso) and modge podged over the top to seal. I added some coordinating ribbons tied around the clasp mechanism.

Birds of a Feather

This is my AB spread for a color-themed altered book round-robin. This is Donna's book and she chose blue as her colors scheme. Blue is hard for me. The BG was done with paints, inks and webbing spray. The tree was created from old text pages that I glazed blue. Images are from Lisa's Altered Art.

Happily Ever After

This is a spread I did for Martha's book for a round-robin we're in. Her color scheme was white/sepia/red. Note: the right page scanned darker than the left page. I think that's because there is a dimensional paper flower on the groom's lapel that held that page up off the scanner bed.

E is for Egg

E is for Egg - started with some SB paper which I drybrushed with gesso. The flourishes are embossed with pink distress embossing powder. Image is from Digital Collage Sheets, and a black German scrap crown. The bigger egg was embossed with clear UTEE and I put a pink feather under it. The "E" is silver glitter and some pink ric-rac finished off the bottom. On Monday it'll be winging its way to Mary-Beth in Canada. I hope you like it, M-B!! :)

Button Fairy

Made 3 of these for a button fairy swap on Altered_stART. The wings are fused Angelina fibers (thanks Francine!!). The face is molded sculpey that I painted white and sealed w/a clear sealer. I used white fibers around the face. Finished up with buttons and a beaded doo-dad hanging off the end.

ATCs

Here are 3 ATCs that I did for a private swap. I actually managed not to use my flourish stamps on two out of 3! I also gave my pink/glitter/lace phase a rest and reverted back to browns on two of the ATCs. Images from Digital Collage Sheets. I hope you like them, Mandy!! :)

Carousel

I created this spread for an altered journal RR. The carousel horse images are from B-Muse. Lyrics are from a 1968 Linda Rondstadt song called "Fragments".

More Corsets

More corset samples I did for the upcoming corset swap.

Corset

A good art friend of mine will be hosting a corset swap on Altered_stART. We're coming up with some samples, and this was the first one I did. It's a fun shape to play with. I created a template and the corset is finished back and front. We're going to make it a loose swap because the only way to bind it would be to have a tab off the side and we didn't really like the way it looked. It's fun to create these fun little corsets out of paper and lace and fibers...definitely a great way to use up some excess art supplies!
